A BOHEME Design is a full-service, client service-focused Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Interior Design firm located in Inlet Beach, Florida. We provide design services along Scenic Highway 30A and along the entire design coast of the Florida Panhandle. Our projects and their designs reflect a broad range of client preferences, budgets, and schedules. We specialize in luxury residential as well as small commercial including office, boutique retail, restaurant, hotel, bar, and museum design.
DARRELL RUSSELL, AIA, ASID
Darrell is the Principal Architect with A BOHEME Design and has more than thirty years of experience encompassing both Architecture and Interior Architecture. He is respected in both areas for outstanding design and client service. In 1994 Builder Magazine awarded him the Project of the Year Award for the design of his former home in Memphis and again in 2003 by the same magazine he was awarded both the Grand Award and Home of the Year award for the design of his personal home in Rosemary Beach. Darrell is extremely accomplished in designing architectural projects and all aspects of interior architectural projects. His knowledge of problem-solving, space efficiency, materials, finishes, and furniture options reflects his vast experience in numerous project types from luxury residences to corporate offices, hotels, restaurants, clubs, retail boutiques, medical offices, and museums.
Prior to establishing BOHEME with Jonathan Hampel, Darrell was a principal with and worked for more than twenty-four years with Memphis-based Looney Ricks Kiss Architects, Inc. (LRK). He relocated to Florida in 2003 and currently resides in Inlet Beach. He is an architectural graduate of the University of Tennessee where he served for many years on the advisory board beginning in 1998. Darrell is a professional member of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Interior Designers. He is very active in both the community efforts of Rosemary Beach as well as the whole of Walton County. He served as a director on the Rosemary Beach Property Owner’s Board through 2013.
JONATHAN HAMPEL, AIA
Jonathan, a founding Principal of A BOHEME Design, moved to the Florida Panhandle in 2005 from Tennessee where he is an architectural graduate of the University of Tennessee. A native of Nashville, Jonathan relocated to Florida for the opportunity to design along the entire Gulf Coast and within the Traditional Neighborhood Developments prevalent in this region and along the design coast.
He has been involved with projects and project management of various project sizes from small renovations to large “ground up” projects including an extensive post-Katrina housing design project for the State of Mississippi. Not only is Jonathan highly proficient with all aspects of technology and electronic documentation of architectural projects, but he also carries a sound understanding of both residential and commercial construction. His gifted ability to work with people, whether clients, consultants, or contractors is exceptional. Jonathan is a professional member of the American Institute of Architects. His project experience has included luxury residences, clubs, restaurants, and offices. He also serves as the Design Review Board and Town Planner for one of the significant beach communities in our area. Prior to founding BOHEME, Jonathan worked with the firm Looney Ricks Kiss Architects.
